Another busy day in Room 12. We played lots of group games today , the children really enjoy these, especially our maths game Zap which they ask to play each day . Today we played who took the cookie from the cookie jar , walking in the bush and of course zap. Group games support social competence such as working together and alongside of each other , turn taking and of course the big one - learning to lose ! . Every day we do numeracy and literacy rich activities .Today we played a maths games where we had to roll the dice, count the dots and then take that many counters from the bowl.We had two turns each, we then had to line up the counters and count how many we had all together. You will notice in the classroom that we have plenty of writing stations for the children to visit through out the day . Keyboards, phones, pencils, pens ,paper, laminated number , letter and word cards provide the children with many opportunities for mark making and writing on top of their writing session with me.
This afternoon some of the children went down on to the field to practise their ball skills with Mrs Doherty and Room 13. Blake and Grayson decided to stay with me so we enjoyed a few games of sight word memory .We are working on a secret project in class , there is a little sneak peek at the bottom .....ssshhhh it's a surprise !!
